Dear Friends,

We have officially begun our labor in God’s kingdom in Kentucky! As 2019 drew to a close, our family was feverishly working to finish moving the household from Alabama to Kentucky. God blessed us with a contract on our AL house in less than 72 hours on the market, and we successfully sold that house on December 13th. God also provided us with a contract on a new home in KY on December 24th, which we closed on just a week ago…(READ MORE)

Like everyone around the world, our family and congregation has had to adjust to the requested suggestions to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. As you read this report you will see how these restrictions have affected several areas of my work, and in some ways have created new opportunities to serve… (READ MORE)

“It is not good that the man should be alone...” - Gen. 2:18

In Genesis God stated a universal truth, that it was never his intent for his image-bearers to live isolated from others. We are beings designed for relationships! The months of April and May have been hard for many as every state implement some form of social distancing…. (READ MORE)

“If possible, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all men.” - Rom. 12:18

Like all of you, we have been trying to help our family work through the events of this year in the most Biblical way possible. Satan has certainly been busy!

One of the things we have tried to help our kids work through was all that we saw and heard at the beginning of summer with the activity downtown. At the conclusion of SALT and LIGHT camps, Anna and I sat down with our children to talk about what we were seeing at that time…(READ MORE)

Phil. 2:29-30 - “So receive [Epaphroditus] in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men, for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.”

As the summer came to a close, I was blessed to have several conversations with people which usually turned to the topic of their fear over the events that have taken place in 2020. It reminded me of a mini-book I read called, “Risk is Right”. I re-read the book and wrote a blog post trying to think through our focus as Christians, whether we are trying to live with faith, focused on pleasing God…(READ MORE)

“Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.” - 2 Cor. . 4:1

I would assume that over the course of the last twelve months many of us have felt exhaustion and monotony. There are days where I have felt like I was trudging through deep mud, like I wasn’t making the progress I had planned for myself and my work. But by God’s grace there are so many passages where He encourages us to not lose heart, to not grow weary in doing good and to keep serving others (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13)… (READ MORE)

February-April

You ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that’. - Jas. 4:15

Thank you for all of the prayers you have offered on our behalf this spring. The last several months have been non-stop busy. Here are some of the personal highlights from this spring:

  • At the end of February, Anna and I simultaneously fought Covid-19 for two weeks.

  • In April I spent a week in the Pacific Northwest after the unexpected death of my uncle.

  • Our oldest son, Cianan, graduates from high school at the end of May.

During months like these that I appreciate James’ reminder that we need to be prepared for God’s plans to superseded ours. In times that seem out of control, we are called to greater trust in Him and have more opportunity to point to His goodness and control… (READ MORE)

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” - Gal. 6:2

Dear Friends,

We cannot thank you enough for the way each of you has supported our family through the last two years. Like everyone we know, our family has gone through tremendous changes. Your spiritual, emotional and financial support has been invaluable… (READ MORE)

“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae, that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.” - Romans 16:1-2

I was recently asked if I thought this is what my kingdom work would look like. I replied with a quick, “No!” Three years ago I made the transition to serving as a non-located evangelist. It was one of the biggest steps of faith I have taken. Some of you have provided me with generous support from the beginning. Some began support later. For various reasons, some have had to stop their support. We love and appreciate all of you! God has always met our needs using you! Thank you for your patronage… (READ MORE)

Summer 2023

“I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.” - (Romans 16:1-2)

One Sunday night after dinner, while I sat down with the kids in the family room, my cell phone rang. It was the elder of a church out of state asking if I still had need for support. The call was completely unexpected but needed!

In the middle of the week I received a text from someone else out of state explaining that a friend  gave them my number saying I might be willing to help…. (READ MORE)

When Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach to gospel to them. (Acts 16:10)

Dear friends, thank you for all of encouragement, prayer and financial assistance you have provided for us during our time in Louisville! Our goal was to live near my parents to honor them however they needed while my youngest brother was at home, and my mother’s health necessitated it…(READ MORE)
